Create a branded product catalog from a SmartSuite CSV

A practical workflow for exporting product information from SmartSuite and making it presentable without redesigning it from scratch.

A product catalog does not need every field in your workspace. It needs the handful of details a buyer or teammate needs to compare items confidently. Start with a SmartSuite view that is already filtered to the collection, season, availability, or customer segment you want to share. A smaller, intentional export is easier to scan and makes a better PDF.

   Create a shareable view first

   Duplicate your product view and filter out drafts, discontinued items, or internal-only records. Sort it in the order a reader should see it: category, product family, or priority. This protects your source data while making the export purposeful.

   Keep only buyer-facing fields

   For most product sheets, Product name, SKU, category, price, availability, and a short description are enough. Avoid internal owner fields, long notes, and columns that require explanation. If a field cannot be understood outside SmartSuite, leave it out.

   Export the CSV

   Export that single view as CSV. Open the file briefly to confirm headings are clear and the records are in the intended order. Rename awkward technical headers before exporting when possible; those headings become labels in the PDF.

   Make the PDF locally

   Open RecordPress, choose the CSV, select the fields to show, then add a document title, brand name, accent color, and optional logo. The tool uses the first 50 records and generates the PDF in your browser, so the CSV stays on your device.
